A Ph. D. student, Shishkina Olga shares with us her experience of Erasmuc Mundus Action 2 programme.

"I have known about the program Erasmus Mundus Action 2 - Triple from the web-site of St. Petersburg State University. This program is a project funded by the European Union and provides the opportunity for students, graduate students, doctoral students and staff of the Russian higher schools to undergo training at European partner universities. For applying the graduate students had to choose three high school from the list of universities - participants (my choice was based on the availability of training programs in English), to obtain prior Admission letter (stating consent to become a teacher supervisor for the period of probation), and send documents to the University of Turku who is the coordinator of the program. I would also like to say that all this must be done in advance - in my case was to accept applications until the end of August 2010 and the beginning - February 2011.

Under this program, I came to the University of Leuven (Belgium), the Faculty of Business and Economics. My Professor Swinnen is the head of the Center for the Study of developing and transition economies, which gave me the opportunity to use materials and library of the Center for writing a thesis (the subject of my thesis is related to the BRIC countries). In general, it should be noted that the University of Leuven, there are ample opportunities for research in various fields of economics, graduate students can choose sessions to attend from a fairly wide range of courses, participate in seminars, in which are the visiting professors, and submit the results of its work at international conferences." - said Olga.
